Playing Rory McIlroy's Home Course | Holywood Golf Club

A special treat to play the course where Rory McIlroy learned to play.

After Royal County Down we made the hour or so trip to Holywood Golf Club. The home club of PGA Tour professional RORY MCILROY. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to film the amazing clubhouse and training facility and all the other cool stuff that Rory has done to his home club. Not too many people talk about this course when it comes to Northern Ireland golf, but I thought it was totally worth it. The views of Belfast were incredible and it was a nice change of pace from the Links golf we had played previously!

Great to watch! Talking about growing up; I started caddying at 12 years old at Quaker Ridge CC, which is located about a strong one iron from Westchester CC (just outside NYC). Also caddied at Winged Foot (in the 60's). So many iconic private and public courses in Southern NY. A great place to learn the game. My Dad was my teacher and he said that, if you want to play well, learn how to chip and putt well (still true now). Never shot a round over 100, low HC was a 3 and now at 71 I'm still managing an 8 ( but not from the tips any more). Love watching and following your journey, great post!….TC
Kelsie: Caddie: 18 holes. You listen and do everything she says! Done. Damn that would be a good one.
My first course was Macktown Golf Course in Rockton Illinois. Still going strong. Nice old course, smaller greens, plenty of trees. Not many long holes, but a lot of doglegs and tough approach shots to, let's say, wavy greens. Still play there.
Their rakes make so much sense…
Seems like brodie forgot to take some meds the day he shot this

My home course is located in the town of Uppsala wich is about 15 miles north of Stockholm and the course is so old so it has the name of the city in 1929 ”Upsala Golfklubb” i realy recomend the 18 home course. Now i play the course designed by Henrik Stensson called Österåkers Golfklubb wich is even better!! That one i definetly recomend!
Learned how to play on a local municipal course in Ketchum,Oklahoma. Learned to play on old school Golden Bear Blades
